Today on Makeup Monday, I wanted to talk about red lipsticks. Since today is the 4th of July, I’m sure lots of people out there are going to choose a red lippie to go with their patriotic outfits. To be honest, I’m not really into dressing up in 4th of July outfits, but I do love a good red lip.

So today, I’m going to talk about the red lipsticks I currently have in my makeup collection and show how there’s definitely a red lip out there for you if you’re currently on the lookout for one or are searching for a new one to add to your collection!

This is Bordeaux from Revlon’s Colorburst collection. I’m not sure if this is still sold because I got mine quite a long time ago, but it’s one of my favorite shades that I come back to and rediscover from time to time.

It’s a deep red on my lips and works perfectly for the fall and wintertime. However, if you take the time to smooth it out with your fingers, it transforms into a lighter pink-red shade and looks super nice for the spring and summer. I love wearing this gloss when I need a pigmented lip that isn’t too strong with a bit of shine. It has a pink undertone and I think it would look good on most skin tones.

This is Heartbreaker from Rimmel and it’s one of their Provocalips. This lip product is not only pigmented, but also is super long-wearing because of the “lock & shine” step on the other side of the tube which basically mattifies your lips and keeps the product from budging all day.

It’s even kiss-proof; I tried kissing my hand (not another person, okay) and it doesn’t come off. It does wear off eventually, so I find myself reapplying around midday or after eating, but that’s a lot better than other lip products out there, although lipsticks have become more and more long-wearing these days.

This has an orange undertone and I think this would work well for a summer night since it’s bright enough for the summer, but the matte look makes it suitable for nighttime.

This is my favorite red lipstick for the fall, but don’t let that stop you from rocking it all year long. I was so obsessed with this lipstick at one point that I did wear it during the summer and into the fall days. This is one of Rimmel’s Kate Moss lipsticks in the shade 107. I think this is also one of Zoella’s favorite red lipsticks.

It’s more of a berry red color and I think a lot of different skin tones could wear this and have it look good on them. In real life, it’s a little dark for the daytime, but in photographs, this tends to show up lighter. But if you love a good darker red lip, go ahead and try it out and see if you like it!

I saved the lipstick that packs the biggest punch for last; this is Certainly Red from Revlon’s Super Lustrous lipstick collection and it’s the brightest red I own. It’s hard for me to wear this color sometimes since it’s so bright. But it’s the truest red I have, so if that’s what you’re looking for, then I would recommend checking this one out! Personally, I find this looks good on my skin tone, but I think it’s probably too brightย for deeper skin tones.

The best part about all these lippies? They’re affordable; I picked all of these up at the drugstore! Even though red lips make quite the statement, I would say that my red lippies have been quite loved through the months. So I hope you make your own statement today with a powerful red lip and have fun with it!

Thanks so much for reading and happy 4th of July!
