Hello lovelies! Today’s Makeup Monday post will be about my recent discovery of blotting sheets and why I love them!

I used to avoid blotting sheets because I thought they were a gimmicky product that wouldn’t actually help with oily skin. I thought that they were just overpriced pieces of thin paper that would probably take your oils away for a for a few before your face got shiny all over again.

In the meantime, I dealt with being an oily mess at the end of every day and I was losing hope that my skin would ever stay matte all day long. I tried using one-ply tissues and toilet paper from time to time, but while those did help to remove my oils temporarily, they would also remove some of my makeup.

When I finally made my first purchase at Sephora (what took me so long omg), I ended up picking up their blotting sheets to spontaneously try them out. I thought it was a good deal considering that you get 100 sheets for $8. I know there are cheaper alternatives, but I accepted the fact that I was probably paying for the pretty packaging as well, haha.

…And oh my goodness, it’s changed my life.

It sounds like an exaggeration but I’m absolutely in love with these blotting sheets. They absorb all my oils and make it look like I just applied my makeup. And although the oils are bound to come through eventually, I would say it keeps me matte for another two hours and then I get “glowy” for another couple hours before I have to blot again. But by this point, my day is usually over so all I have to do is take off my makeup and go through my skincare routine!

However, if I’m having an extra long day at school or work, or if I’m out all night, these blotting sheets are definitely a lifesaver!

I do have to give credit to my skincare routine, setting sprays, primers, and my foundation for helping me stay matte for as long as possible, but these blotting sheets are a game-changer. Now I don’t have to worry about having to wear my makeup for super long days because I can just blot to make my makeup look freshly applied again!

I honestly don’t know what I was doing with my life before this and I don’t think I could live without blotting sheets anymore.

So those are my thoughts on the Sephora blotting sheets and blotting sheets in general! I was a skeptic at first, but now I’m a true believer in using blotting sheets for oily skin. I also plan on testing out other brands to see if they stand up to the test.

Thanks so much for reading and I’ll see you lovelies tomorrow!
