Happy Tuesday lovelies! Today I wanted to continue my monthly check-in posts about my resolutions, so keep reading if you want to find out my progress!

I’m pretty sure many of us have already forgotten about our resolutions by now. We’ve either given up on them or feel like we’ve failed so we’ll try again next year.

But that’s the wrong mentality to have. It seems that we make resolutions just because it’s the beginning of a new year and everyone does it, but then we forget about them within a couple months.

I think it’s necessary to continually check in with yourself to make sure you’re still on track with your goals. In addition, people constantly change so you might need to ask yourself if you need to modify your resolutions or add/remove goals that you made for yourself at the beginning of the year.

You can take a look at my resolutions in depth here, but they are:

1. Be physically and emotionally healthy.
2. Live life with more enthusiasm.
3. Be more creative with my blog and take it to another level.
4. Make time for creativity.

In the last 6 months, I’ve noticed that I’m on my way to achieving some of these goals, but on the other hand, some of them don’t fit me as well anymore.

Because of that, I’ve decided to switch up some of my resolutions and modify some of them.

1.  Be physically and emotionally healthy.

In my 5 Ways to Actually Keep Your Resolutions post, one of my tips was to be specific. I wasn’t specific in my 2017 resolutions because I went into more detail offline. However, I think it’s time to modify this resolution to become more specific.

If you’ve been following my blog from the beginning, you may have figured out that I’ve had a rough couple of years in the past mentally. But even though I still have a ways to go, I’ve definitely improved. Because of this, I feel like I don’t need the general physical and mental wellness resolution anymore.

Instead, I want to change my resolution to: Start exercising every other day and practice mental wellness with a journal.

This means I’ll be creating a workout plan and I’ll try to stick to it as much as possible. I’ve lost some weight this year, but now I want to work on toning up my body! A good diet is also important, but I really love food, so we’ll see how this works out, haha…

My mental health has improved a lot, but I’m the type of person that likes to write things out to feel better. I feel one of the last obstacles I have to face is letting my emotions out.

I suppressed my personal writing desires while I was in school, so my mind is kind of a mess right now. I’m almost sure the reason why I’m so bad at remembering things these days is because I have so much going on in my head; once I start getting my thoughts out on paper, I think I’ll start feeling a lot better.

I plan on getting a journal to use for my thoughts and as a gratitude journal!

2. Live life with more enthusiasm.

I wrote in my April check-in post that I’ve become more introverted these days, so it’s been hard to get out of the house. In the past, I also got really down on myself so I withdrew from going out.

Now I want to change this resolution to: Go on an adventure once a week.

I’m being more specific because I feel like this is the best way for me to live my life with more enthusiasm. As of now, I’ve hardly left the house even though I’ve been on “summer vacation” for over a month now. I’m currently looking for a job, but until then, I have some freedom, so I need to make the most of it!

My plans are to start small and hopefully I’ll get a regular job that’ll allow me to go out on the weekends. I’m most excited about this revamped resolution; I hope this’ll finally motivate me to start getting out there again!

3. Be more creative with my blog and take it to another level.

I do think I have a long way to go before my blog is where I want it to be, but for now, I’m content with the changes I have made to it. I might change the design of this space again in the near future, but it’s not as much of a priority as it was in the beginning of the year.

Now that I feel like I’ve accomplished this resolution, I want to replace it with: Fearlessly pursue all of my passions.

In recent months, I’ve become confused with what path I want to take in life. People don’t talk about the anti-climatic side of graduating; right now, I currently feel unsure of what to do and where to go.

At the same time, I have so many ideas about what I should do. I’d like to have an English career, but I think being able to help the less fortunate would be great as well. I also love working on my blog since it combines my love for fashion, beauty, and writing; yet another side of me would love to be in music. As you can see, it’s a bit messy right now.

But I plan to dedicate the rest of this year to pursue everything I want to do without being afraid of the consequences. I feel like I’ve tried to put myself in a box, when really I should try everything my heart desires. I need to see where I’ll fail and where I can succeed and go from there.

So in order to pursue these passions fearlessly, I will be continuing this blog while looking for writing jobs. I’ll look for volunteer opportunities so I can help others and I’ll go back to covering songs on YouTube. I don’t know where these paths will take me, but I’ll never know unless I try.

4. Make time for creativity.

I’m still going to keep this resolution since I haven’t achieved it yet. I’ve done a couple creative projects so far and I plan on doing much more. I’ve been getting inspired from some YouTube channels and I’m itching to get my creative ideas out!

My plan for this is to be creative 3 times a week. I’m using this as a test number, so we’ll see how this works out. I also know I can’t force creativity, so I have to allot for that as well. Either way, I’m hoping that revisiting this resolution and being more specific with it will give me that extra push to do all the creative things I’ve been holding back on!

So, to recap, my revised resolutions are:

1. Start exercising every other day and practice mental wellness with a journal.
2. Go on an adventure once a week.
3. Fearlessly pursue all my passions.
4. Make time for creativity.

Let’s see how far I get by this time next month!

I hope you enjoyed this post! Thank you so much for reading; I also wanted to say that today I reached 100 followers on this blog so thank you so much to everyone that follows me! I know this isn’t a big number compared to all the other big-shot bloggers out there, but it’s a good start! I will continue to work as hard as possible to grow this blog and make quality content and I hope you all can come along on this journey! Again, thank you and I’ll see you lovelies tomorrow!
