SKIN DEEP | FIRST AID BEAUTY PURE SKIN CLEANSER REVIEW

Hello lovelies! Today I’m going to be reviewing the First Aid Beauty Pure Skin Cleanser, so keep reading to hear my thoughts on it!

WHAT IT CLAIMS TO DO:

This facial cleanser claims to be a fragrance-free and gentle cleanser for all skin types that will wash away makeup and dirt to leave your skin feeling soft and clean.

It is sulfate-free, paraben-free, and phthalate-free.

INGREDIENTS:

Water, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Glycerin, Stearic Acid, Stearyl Alcohol, Allantoin, Chrysanthemum Parthenium (Feverfew) Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Tocopherol, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Caprylyl Glycol, Sodium Pca, Coco-Glucoside, Glyceryl Oleate, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Hydrogenated Palm Glycerides Citrate, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Lecithin, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Chloride, Disodium Edta, Citric Acid, Maltodextrin, Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Edta.

Sephora’s website says that there’s aloe and allantoin that helps calm, nourish, and soothe skin, glycerin that helps to hydrate and smooth your skin, and the “FAB Antioxidant Booster” that fights against environmental aggressors with licorice root, feverfew, and white tea extract.

MY SKIN TYPE:

Oily, sensitive, and acne-prone.

MY EXPERIENCE:

APPEARANCE AND TEXTURE:

Sephora’s website says that the cleanser has a whipped texture. To me, this looks like the Clearasil brand from the drugstore. It does have a whipped texture and it turns a little foamy when you rub it into your hands.

FRAGRANCE:

This is supposed to be fragrance-free; to me, it smells, again, like the Clearasil brand, so if you need a reference for how it looks and smells, you can check out Clearasil to see how it is. However, it’s not a strong scent so it shouldn’t bother most people.

RESULTS:

I use this as my morning cleanser because my nighttime cleanser is my holy grail face wash that I can’t replace. It does make my skin feel clean, but I don’t see any amazing results from it. It doesn’t break me out and it’s easy to use and wash off.

I wouldn’t use this as my makeup remover because I personally believe in double cleansing with a makeup remover and cleanser, but I also don’t think it would be strong enough to take off makeup unless you don’t wear a lot of it.

OVERALL:

I don’t love this face wash, but I do like it. Compared to the Burt’s Bees face wash I usually use (for my skincare routine post, click here!), this isn’t as nourishing, but it doesn’t dry out my skin too much. It’s also not as creamy as my Burt’s Bees face wash so it’s easier to wash off my skin.

I have repurchased this because I don’t like to switch up my skincare routine too often and I want to continue using it, but if I were to find something better, I wouldn’t mind switching over.

So is it worth it? I think it’s worth a try! It’s $10 for a smaller size and the full-size is $20, so it’s still quite affordable. It doesn’t seem to break out my skin and it has some good ingredients in it as well. For now, I will keep using it; if anything changes, I’ll be sure to update!

I hope this review was helpful! Thanks for reading and I’ll see you lovelies tomorrow!
