YES, NO, MAYBE SO | SEPTEMBER 2017 MONTHLY PRODUCT REVIEW

Hi lovelies! I really can’t believe we’re nearing the end of another month; keep reading to see my reviews on some products I’ve been using!

NYX LAVENDER CC CREAM

nyx.cccreamlavender1

I bought this quite a while ago (see the haul here!) and I also reviewed it in my June Product Review. It’s the light/medium lavender shade and the packaging says that it helps to brighten and illuminate the skin.

In my June Product Review, I gave this a maybe because I had hope that if I tried different techniques, it might work better on my skin. Now that I’ve tried it under makeup, with different primers, and on its own, I’ve come to the conclusion that this doesn’t work for me.

It’s a light lavender, but it blends out to match your skin tone.

The main downside is that I get oilier faster when I use it. It also leaves my skin tacky and never seems to set down, even after powder. Because of this, I won’t be repurchasing.

Overall, this might work for people who have normal to dry skin and need very little coverage, but I wouldn’t recommend this for oily skin.

RATING: NO

L’OREAL TRUE MATCH FOUNDATION

lorealtruematch

I have this product coming up in a haul soon, but I couldn’t wait to review it. My current favorite foundation is the L’Oreal Infallible Pro Matte foundation, but that can sometimes look too matte and done up on days when I want to look a little more natural.

Even though this product has been out for years, I never picked it up because I was intimidated by the shade range (I’m pretty bad at matching myself) and I didn’t know if it would work on oily skin. However, it’s split up into warm, cool, and neutral tones which is helpful and it does work for oily skin types!

It starts off with a matte finish, but blends in with the skin pretty quickly within a couple hours to make you look more natural. I will say it doesn’t hold up as long as the Infallible foundation, but it’s easy to touch up without messing with your makeup!

RATING: YES!

URBAN DECAY EYESHADOW IN MIDNIGHT COWBOY

UD.midnightcowboy1

I got this last year as a free birthday gift at Ulta (this was also in a haul!) and I was really excited to use this since I hadn’t really tried high-end eyeshadows at the time.

It’s a shimmery white shade, but there’s some chunks of glitter that take it a little overboard for me. In addition, this would probably only work for people who have my skin tone or lighter because it’s a very light shade.

It’s a nice eyeshadow, but I don’t think it’s worth paying $12 for a single shadow; I think their palettes are a better investment!

NEUTROGENA MINERAL SHEERS POWDER FOUNDATION

neutrogenamineralsheerpowder

I used to wear this in the past many years ago when I was first getting into makeup (about 7 years ago!) and I wanted to try it again now that I have more experience.

It’s a nice powder that sets your makeup without looking too matte. It claims to be a powder foundation but this gives very little coverage so this would be ideal for people who want to even out their skin tone.

Unfortunately, this doesn’t keep me as matte as the Rimmel Stay Matte powder. It does set your makeup and looks nautral, but in terms of lasting power, I prefer the Rimmel one.

SEPHORA DUO FACE BRUSH

sephoraduofacebrush

I recently purchased this (check out this haul!) and I’ve been trying it out for a couple weeks and I really like it! Like I explained in my haul, I usually use the regular face brush, but ended up trying this one out.

I really enjoy the rubber bristle side because it’s good for a gentle exfoliation and the regular bristles are good for a deep clean. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with this product.

RATING: YES!

So those are my reviews for this month; let me know in the comments what products you’ve been liking or disliking! Thanks so much for reading and I’ll see you lovelies soon!
