It feels this month has flown by, and it doesn’t help that this is also the shortest month of the year, but I’m back with another monthly product review so let’s get started!
COSRX AHA/BHA CLARIFYING TREATMENT TONER
If you’ve read my life update post, then you’ll know I had surgery last month, and I haven’t been able to get out much. Because of this, I’ve been able to let my skin breathe without makeup and work on my skincare routine.
When I ran out of my Pixi Glow Tonic again (I have a review on it here!), I decided to pick this up since there were a lot of good reviews on it. Many people said it shrunk their pores, reduced blackheads and texture, evened out their skin tone, and gave a glow to their skin.
I do think this was nice, but I guess I had high expectations from the reviews because I didn’t get the results I was hoping for. COSRX’s toner claims to refresh, soothe, and soften skin and it did do that for me. But beyond that, I didn’t see any special results that would make me want to repurchase it.
I would still recommend this because AHAs and BHAs are good for your skin and this is affordable, but I’m looking for products that will really make a visible improvement in my skin.
VERDICT: NO (but it’s still a nice product!)
CATRICE PRIME AND FINE PROFESSIONAL CONTOURING PALETTE IN SUNNY SYMPATHY
I’m not very picky with bronzers and contour palettes, but I do enjoy contouring these days because I have a baby face and I like to define my cheekbones and jawline. I also prefer products that aren’t too pigmented because I’d rather build up product than accidentally put on too much.
As I’ve practiced with this palette, it’s a little difficult to get product out and I don’t like to take too long with my makeup so sometimes I get frustrated with it. The highlighter also doesn’t really show up on my skin; it’s very subtle and doesn’t add much of a glow.
Overall, this is a good palette for beginners, but I think I’ve outgrown it. I think once I finish this, I’ll move on to something a little more pigmented, but still buildable.
VERDICT: NO (but MAYBE if you’re a beginner)
COLOURPOP EYELINER IN MR. BING
This is from KathleenLights’s collaboration (it’s still available!) and I was really excited to get it because it looked like a unique shade. It’s a brown eyeliner that leans a bit on the red side, which I haven’t seen before.
I’ve had this liner for quite some time and I like to use this when I want something less harsh than black liner. I’ll apply it to my lower waterline and blend brown shadows underneath.
What I’ve noticed is that this liner doesn’t stay in my waterline. It’ll smudge a little or disappear. By the end of the day, it’ll look like I never applied eyeliner there.
For this reason, I’m a little disappointed with it, especially since Kathleen claimed that it stayed on her waterline all day. However, the formula is nice and it still works well to line your eyes, just not the waterline.
BATH & BODY WORKS BODY LOTION IN WINTER CANDY APPLE
I never thought I’d be that person that has a collection of scented body lotions, but there’s a lot of things I thought I’d never be so now I’m that girl and this has been my go-to scent for this past winter.
I know winter is on its way out, but it’s been cold lately and I’ll probably keep using this when spring rolls around anyways. The notes in this are red apple, winter rose petals, candied orange, maple leaf, and fresh cinnamon. It smells like the holidays but with a bit more sweetness in it from the apple scent.
I purchased this a couple months ago, and I’ve been addicted ever since! I usually don’t like super sweet scents, but this is right under my sweetness tolerance.
If you haven’t gotten into Bath & Body Works lotions yet, go check them out, especially during their sales. There’s so many scents to choose from and they make great gifts too. 🙂
And that’s it for this month! I didn’t realize how many products I wasn’t loving until I sat down to write this post, haha. What have you been loving or not loving this month? Let me know in the comments! Thanks so much for reading and I’ll see you lovelies soon!
