Spring has started, which means it’s time to start playing around with makeup again! You might have gotten into a makeup rut during the winter, but with these trends, you’ll be rocking fresh new looks in no time!
1. IT’S ALL IN THE INNER CORNER.
As much as we love our shimmery colors all over the lid or in the center of our eyes (think halo eyeshadow looks!) to create dimension, we sometimes neglect the inner corner. But not anymore!
The inner corner of our eyes have all our attention these days with shades ranging from glowing champagne to other hues such as this pretty pastel shade on Shay Mitchell.
I’ve always liked using shimmery shadows on my inner corner, but now I’ll definitely try stepping it up a notch! To make it wearable, I’ll probably stick with champagne shades, but I’d love to try out some color for nights out or when I’m feeling bold!
2. GLOW ALL DAY, EVERY DAY.
The highlighter trend is still going strong! With Fenty Beauty coming out recently, the glow has come back stronger than ever.
You can glow in plenty of different ways. We’ve literally seen a rainbow of colors being used as highlighter because of the unicorn trend that came out last year, but for a more wearable look, you can go for more champagne shades with golden or pink tones depending on your skin’s undertone.
3. CHERRY LIPS + GLOSS
Red lips is a classic look that never goes out of style. This season, upgrade your look with some gloss instead of a matte lipstick. It’ll draw even more attention to your lips and make them look extra juicy.
Wearing red lipstick can be daunting, but it can really freshen up your face and give yourself a mini makeover. If you feel too intimidated by the bright color, start off with by patting the color onto your lips instead of applying it directly for a more diffused stain!
4. DESIGN YOUR LINE(R).
Eyeliner is having a crazy moment right now. There have always been variations of liner trends over the years, but I think this is the first time where there are so many different styles of lining your eyes at the same time.
This is perfect because now it’s not just about the classic winged liner; instead you can play around with different colors and shapes which will easily switch up your look for this spring.
The most popular looks seem to be using white liner or making graphic shapes with eyeliners.
If these ideas are a bit out of your comfort zone, try accent liner instead! Here, a little pop of color was inserted underneath the wing with some eyeshadow and an angled brush or liner. No fuss, no muss, and it’ll make you look like you’re super talented with makeup when it literally only took a few seconds to apply.
Upside down liner is also a great way to bring more attention to your eyes! Line your eyes with a colored liner or eyeshadow and voila! You’ll have a brand new look compared to what you normally wear!
5. GLITTER, GLITTER, GLITTER.
I actually have a post mentioning glitter as a makeup trend from a couple years ago and it never really went away. Glitter has been around forever anyways since it’s a perfect way to make a statement, whether it’s on the runway, the red carpet, or a concert stage.
In this case, we’ve been applying it all over the lids on runway models, but a way to make it wearable for us regular people is to apply glitter to your inner corners or wear a wash of high shimmer shadow on the lid.
You can start from the inner corner and make your way to the center of the lid to follow both the inner corner and glitter trends!
Using shimmery colors on the lids are a great way to follow the glitter trend without actually wearing glitter. With all the eyeshadow palettes out there these days, it’s easy to find pigmented shimmer shadows that can imitate a glittery look.
So those are the top trends I found to change up our makeup looks now that spring has sprung! Have you tried any of these? What are your favorite trends that have come out recently? Let me know in the comments! Thanks so much for reading and I’ll see you lovelies soon!
