Hello lovelies! Today I’ve got an Ulta haul with some items I’ve been trying out!
I have to admit, I’ve been a bit backlogged with hauls so expect quite a few more haul posts after Fashion Month is over; anyways, let’s get into it!
L’OREAL PARIS COLOUR RICHE SHINE LIPSTICK | SPARKLING ROSE
I picked up this lipstick because lately I’ve been looking into products that are more sheer and natural-looking on the lips. This is pretty, but the color doesn’t match my warm skin tone super well; it’s a little too light for me. With that being said, I just wear a slightly darker lipliner underneath this to get my desired look.
L’OREAL INFALLIBLE 24H GEL LINER | BLACKEST BLACK
I’ve finally returned to this gel liner after trying out the Maybelline one. I first wrote about this liner in a monthly product review and it was the first gel liner I had ever tried. I used to dislike it, so I wanted to try something else. After experimenting with the Maybelline gel liner, I’ve come to realize that this is better. I plan on doing a comparison post on them, so look out for that in the future!
ESSENCE MAKE ME BROW EYEBROW GEL MASCARA | 02 BROWNY BROWS
I typically enjoy my E.L.F. clear eyebrow gel because it gets the job done, but sometimes, I want something tinted to define my brow hairs and to slightly darken them. I decided on this brow gel from Essence because it was an affordable tinted brow gel. So far, I like it but I might want to try out a few other brands before I decide whether it’s worth the extra step in my makeup routine or not.
IT COSMETICS SUPERHERO MASCARA
I received this mascara as a birthday present from Ulta last year and I’ve tried it a few times. Unfortunately, even though it lengthens and volumizes my short, thin lashes, it doesn’t keep a curl. I’ll probably only use this on super casual days or on my lower lashes.
THE BODY SHOP TEA TREE OIL
I was on the fence about trying this, but I finally gave in since I’ve been looking into spot treatments for my acne. It does seem to help with blemishes, but it strangely doesn’t give consistent results.
I mainly apply it on pimples that haven’t come to a head and aren’t ready to pop yet (yes, I pop my pimples but I always wash my face and treat my skin afterwards!). I got the mini size to test it out, and I guess we’ll just have to see whether it’s worth repurchasing.
TOO FACED HANGOVER 3-IN-1 REPLENISHING PRIMER AND SETTING SPRAY
I purchased this based on some positive reviews saying that people with oily skin can use it as long as they spray it before and after makeup application. I didn’t use it that way every time so I can’t tell if it helped my makeup last longer.
I also don’t know if I would repurchase; I picked up the smaller size but I’m not sure if it’s a necessity since I went through it pretty quickly and I have other setting sprays. Lastly, I don’t like coconut scents, but this one was quite light and enjoyable.
MAKEUP REVOLUTION CONCEAL AND DEFINE CONCEALER | SHADE C7
I purchased this back when everyone hyped it up as a dupe of the Tarte Shape Tape concealer. Since I’ve never tried Shape Tape, I can’t compare it, but I also didn’t know what to expect from this concealer. It’s hard to pick a shade because they all look pretty similar but C7 matches me pretty well.
It’s not full coverage, but it does do its job. Lastly, I noticed that it spreads quite easily; you won’t need a ton of concealer under your eyes or on a pimple because less is more with this product.
L’OREAL INFALLIBLE 24HR PRO-MATTE FOUNDATION | SHADE 103
I’ve returned to this foundation and shade because I think it’s currently the best in the drugstore in terms of oil control, shade match [for my skin tone], and coverage. I also got a shade lighter in the last year so I’ve had to adjust my foundation shades.
I used to use W4 in the L’Oreal True Match Foundation (see my review here), but when I tried to go up a shade, it didn’t match too well. 😦 However, 103 looks pretty good on me, so I’m back to using it! I’ve written a review on this foundation too, which you can find here!
MAKEUP REVOLUTION RETRO LUXE MATTE LIP KIT | NOBLE
I’m kind of over the liquid lipstick trend, but I couldn’t help myself when I saw this shade. It’s a brownish-pink hue that I don’t have in my collection and I thought it would be good for the winter months. However, since I live in Southern California, I can probably actually wear this all year round, haha.
I can only recall wearing this once so far and it was very drying like most liquid lipsticks are, so I’ll be trying it again ASAP and letting y’all know my thoughts in a future post!
MAKEUP REVOLUTION FIERCE AS FIRE EYESHADOW PALETTE
When I bought the concealer and lip kit, I ended up getting an eyeshadow palette for free! This one is quite nice and it matches last summer’s sunset eyeshadow trend. I originally wanted it because of the yellow shade, but it comes off more like a golden yellow shade instead (I guess I’m still on the search for the perfect yellow shadow!). However, I fell in love with the coral and pinky shades in the palette, so I definitely need to play around with it more, even if it is still winter at the moment.
And that’s everything I got in this Ulta haul! Like I said at the beginning of this post, I do have a few more hauls coming up after Fashion Month is over, so be on the lookout for them! And speaking of Fashion Month, if you haven’t checked them out yet, you can learn about designers’ backstories and collections from New York Fashion Week, London Fashion Week, and Milan Fashion Week in these blog posts! I’ve done a lot of research for these posts, so I’d really appreciate it if you take a look at them.
Thank you so much for reading and I’ll see you lovelies soon. ❤
