FIRST AID BEAUTY VITAMIN HYDRATING MIST REVIEW

As someone with oily skin, I’ve stayed away from “hydrating” products for years in fear of becoming more oily. However, with all the new skincare knowledge coming out these days, I might just start embracing hydration. Find out why in this review!

MY EXPERIENCE

I picked this up on a whim at Ulta one day so I didn’t know what to expect from this product. I was afraid it was going to make me oilier or break me out, but sometimes I get flaky skin, so I wanted to try something hydrating.

What stands out to me the most is that the scent is very…strong. It smells very herbal and kind of like dirt, to be honest. I personally like fresh or flowery fragrances (or none at all) so when I smelled this, I instantly regretted purchasing this. However, over time, I got used to it and even though it’s not my favorite scent in the world, I don’t mind it that much anymore.

As for how the product works, the mist is quite strong. You will get some larger droplets on your face which you have to pat into your skin. It’s a bit inconvenient if you’re using it on top of makeup, but it’s not a deal-breaker for me.

I’ve used this with and without makeup; on bare skin, it feels hydrating, and on top of makeup, it helps to make everything look fresh and glowy, especially on days where I want my makeup to look less powdery.

However, on the days where I do use this, I have to sacrifice a few hours of wear time because it’ll make me oilier quicker than usual. In order to help with this, I usually use my most mattifying products and my favorite blotting sheets.

THE VERDICT

This isn’t a necessity in my beauty routine, but I enjoy using it. I would consider repurchasing occasionally because I like how it adds a little boost of hydration and I love the glow I get from it. The downsides are the scent and the fact that I usually get oily from using this.

Overall, I would still recommend this if you’re the type to refresh your makeup throughout the day with a mist and you have a drier skin type. I like the ingredient list since it’s more natural than other products and it didn’t break me out.

Also, as I’ve learned more about skincare, I’ve realized that oily skin actually needs more hydration instead of constantly using mattifying products. Even though this isn’t an amazing product for me, it’s gotten me curious about hydrating makeup and skincare items!

I hoped you enjoyed this review! Have you tried this hydrating mist? What did you think of it? Let me know in the comments; thanks so much for reading and I’ll see you lovelies soon!
