YES, NO, MAYBE SO | APRIL 2017 MONTHLY PRODUCT REVIEW

Hello lovelies! I can’t believe April’s almost over; today I’ll be doing my monthly product review!

I’ve been using this body lotion for the last couple of months and I’m in love with the scent. Even though the name suggests a tropical vacation, I liked using it during the colder months.

The key notes are fresh coconut water, sparkling mandarin, kiwi blossom, and Tahitian vanilla musk. Everything sounds very summery, but I think the vanilla notes give off a cozy, fall/winter vibe. Nonetheless, it’s still great for any season!

I’ve been trying to get into doing my nails more often these days, and lately I’ve been obsessed with this Sally Hansen Insta-Dri nail polish in the shade Expresso. Even when I try to use another shade, I just want to come back to this one.

I think I enjoy how it’s a neutral dark pink shade and it goes with everything. But I definitely need to switch it up so that my other nail polishes get some use as well. I’ve been slowly building up my nail polish collection again and I want to make sure I use them all regularly!

This nail polish only needs one coat to be opaque, but I always do a second coat just in case.

Speaking of nails, I also invested in a fast-drying top-coat. I heard that Seche Vite is one of the best top coats out there so I decided to give it a try.

My nails do dry relatively quick, but at the same time, I’ve been using a Sally Hansen Insta-Dri polish as well. The only thing I have noticed is that my nail polish peels and chips within a couple days, so that’s discouraging. However, I think that’s due to the fact that I use this top coat as a base coat as well.

I know all the nail polish lovers out there are probably scolding me through the computer screen now, but don’t worry, I plan on testing out a base coat very soon to see if it makes a difference!

If you follow my blog, you may notice that this eyeshadow is making another appearance. Yup, that’s how much I love it. This is Un from Jenn Im’s limited edition collaboration with Colourpop, so it’s not sold anymore, but I’m sure there are plenty of other similar shadows like this; just look for shimmery gold colors!

And lately, I’ve been using this shadow on the lid and then using the NYC Sunny bronzer in the crease! Together, this creates a really warm bronze and gold look (duh, lol).

I love wearing this because it’s warm and creates definition, but it’s not too much for the daytime. Plus, it’s super fast and easy because you don’t even need brushes to complete the look! I would do a makeup tutorial, but I’m nowhere near a professional makeup artist, so I’ll be avoiding that. But I might do a blog post on it one of these days, considering how often I do it and how easy it is to achieve!

This has been one of my favorite looks as of lately, so I’ll probably be rocking it for a while!

Lastly, I have to talk about this lipstick.

I used to wear dark red lipstick all the time (I had Rimmel’s Kate Moss lipstick in 107) when I first started college. Looking back on it, it was a pretty bold move in my opinion. I guess I just liked how easily it added some drama to my face, especially since I used to wear much simpler eye makeup back then. It was my go-to when I wanted to change up my look and I was really comfortable with wearing it.

These days, I shy away from red shades, but I’m trying to get back into it. I talked about this lipstick in my lippie haul yesterday and I finally pulled it out this month and started experimenting with it.

And it turns out I really miss wearing red lipstick! This product is very pigmented, so instead of applying it straight onto my lips, I pat it on, much like how Koreans or other Asian cultures apply their lip products. This way, it turns out to be a more natural flush of color, rather than super red lips. I’m pretty generous with patting it on, but I love the way it turns out! My face looks so much healthier and it adds a pop of color as well.

So that’s my monthly product review this month! Basically everything got a yes from me this month, although the top coat has a maybe for me right now. Anyways, thanks so much for reading and I’ll see you lovelies tomorrow!
