GARNIER MICELLAR CLEANSING WATER REVIEW

Hello lovelies! Today on Makeup Monday, I have a review on the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water!

The Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water is a makeup remover that claims to remove all your makeup with micellar technology without stripping your skin. The “micellar technology” is apparently micelles that can attract dirt, oil, and makeup on your face. It’s supposed to work for all skin types and act as a cleanser and makeup remover.

I’ve mentioned this product in my get unready with me post and I’ve been using this for the last 3 months. My experience with it is that it really does remove the majority, if not all, of my makeup and leaves it feeling clean and hydrated. I don’t feel like my skin has been stripped and it doesn’t feel tight like it usually would after using makeup wipes or other makeup removers.

Even though I have oily skin, my skin has a tendency to look tight, shiny, and dry after removing my makeup/washing my face. This is most likely because my skin has been stripped of my natural oils, which is something to avoid because that can lead to overproduction of more oil and cause everything from clogged pores, breakouts, and an overall oily complexion.

With the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water, my skin feels clean to the point where I don’t feel the need to cleanse my face with my nightly face wash. It says that you can just use the micellar water and leave your skin the way it is, but I always end up doing a second cleanse because my face wash has benzoyl peroxide that helps keep my acne at bay. Because I notice that my skin doesn’t have that tight, shiny look after using this, I have reason to believe that this product isn’t stripping my skin of my natural oils.

I usually use 3 cotton rounds and saturate them with the micellar water. I use two on my skin and one to remove my eye makeup. It doesn’t have any strong fragrance and I don’t feel like my sensitive, acne-prone skin is affected when I use this.

I haven’t tried out other micellar waters such as Bioderma or the Simple micellar water, but I don’t like to try out too many different things on my skin in case it freaks out. Since this works well for me, I don’t feel the need to try any other ones. Plus, this is a fraction of the price compared to the Bioderma, so I’d rather save my money.

My skin has been mostly clear in the last month or so and I feel like it’s partially because of this micellar water. Since I’ve been really taking the time to take off my makeup and also creating a skincare routine, my skin has improved a lot and I definitely think this product has something to do with it.

I will say I don’t think it attracts all dirt because I’ve noticed the blackheads on my nose have been more prominent lately and it doesn’t seem to be helping with that. Also, I would never use this as a makeup remover and a cleanser because I personally don’t think this has the proper qualities to be a cleanser. It probably would work in a pinch if you were going on a short trip and you wanted to pack light, but I personally can’t live without my face wash, haha.

Overall, I would say that this is a really good makeup remover. Since it’s the only micellar water I’ve ever tried, I don’t have anything to compare it to, but it’s definitely an upgrade from my makeup wipes. It removes all my makeup without leaving a residue or stripping my skin, doesn’t break me out, and I think it’s helped to improve my skin since it’s been helping me with keeping my skin cleaner.

I do plan on trying other makeup removers in the future. I want to see how well the Clinique Take Off the Day cleansing balm works and I would be willing to sparingly try out cleansing oils and other micellar waters in the future.

So that’s my review today! I hope you found this helpful; let me know in the comments below what your favorite makeup removers are! Thanks so much for reading and I’ll see you lovelies tomorrow!

P.S: Can you believe it’s been over a month since I last wrote a post on this blog?? I had planned on being super consistent this year, but nothing really got in the way except for my doubts and worries for the future.

I’ll save the details for a future post, but basically I wanted to step up my game here since there are so many good blogs out there and I felt like what I was doing wasn’t good enough. In addition, sometimes I feel like beauty and fashion can be very superficial and I also enjoy other things such as art, nature, and good causes so I want to incorporate that into my blog one day, but I’m still not sure how just yet. Anyways, if you made it this far, thank you for reading and I’ll try my hardest from now on! ♥
