BEAUTY HAULS MAKEUP

HAULED IT & TRIED IT | A BEAUTY HAUL FT. BUXOM, THE ORDINARY, & MORE!

Hello lovelies, I hope you’re all doing well right now; today I have a haul with some products I’ve been trying out!

COLOURPOP ULTRA MATTE LIP IN BEEPER

I purchased this lip product on a whim because I used to own it in college and remembered how much I liked it. Nowadays, I prefer glosses and lip balms over matte lips because of how drying they can be, but I still really like this shade. It’s a cool-toned color that comes off as a nude pinky-brown shade on my lips.

THE ORDINARY LACTIC ACID 10% & HA

I recently added this skincare product to my nightly routine and I’ve had some interesting results so far. It’s a chemical exfoliator with lactic acid as an AHA and hyaluronic acid to add hydration. I had hoped that it would help with hyperpigmentation and even out my skin tone but it’s a slow process.

At this point, I’ve been testing it out for about two months and while I feel like it somewhat helped my skin, I don’t know if it made enough of a difference to love this product. I plan on updating my thoughts in a more in-depth product review so make sure to look out for that!

NYX LINGERIE EYESHADOW PALETTE

I purchased this eyeshadow palette a while ago but in the last several months, I’ve realized that I’m not much of an eyeshadow person, especially when it comes to my everyday makeup looks. At the time, I was really excited about it because of the lilac and the warm-toned mattes, but I still haven’t tried it out yet. However, since quarantine is still going strong, I think I’ll try a look with it soon!

ARDELL DEMI WISPY LASHES

These are lashes I’ll always repurchase because they’re my overall favorite. Not only do they look nice, the band is almost invisible, making it easy for them to blend in with your makeup. On top of that, they’re so lightweight that I don’t feel them on my eyes and I’ll forget I’m wearing lashes sometimes. I can’t tell you how many times people have thought these falsies are my actual lashes as well, which means they must work well for my eye shape and aren’t too dramatic for everyday wear.

BUXOM STRIKE GOLD LIP GLOSS SET

So this set of glosses comes with 6 different glosses and 2 lip liners. I’ve purchased one lip gloss from Buxom before and I was obsessed with it because it matched with all of my lip colors. The mintiness probably didn’t plump my lips much, but it was a fun feeling. I’ve also said before that I love mini lip products because I own a lot of lippies, making it hard to finish anything. So far, I’ve been loving these glosses and they’re fun to wear. I’ve worn White Russian and Sarina and love them both so I can’t wait to try out the rest of them.

MAYBELLINE LASH SENSATIONAL MASCARA AND MASTER PRECISE LIQUID LINER

I purchased these two products together because I wanted to use this mascara again but I also wanted to try out the liquid liner. I actually don’t have any experience with liquid liners except for using the Kat Von D liner once (and it didn’t go too well haha) so I thought I could give this one a shot. I haven’t tried it yet but I’m excited (and nervous) to test it out!

HERO MIGHTY PATCH ACNE STICKERS

I’ve been into trying out different acne patches lately so I thought I would give these a go. So far, I’ve used these a few times and I like how thin the patches are and how they blend into the skin really well. Out of what I’ve tried so far, I think these do a decent job but I’ve also tried other really good ones which I want to write about in another blog post in the future.

GARNIER MICELLAR WATER

This micellar water has been around for a few years already and I remember trying it out shortly after its release. Since then, I’ve gone through several bottles and I like picking up the mini size because it’s the perfect size for traveling. My makeup removal routine usually starts with a cleansing balm and then micellar water to remove eye makeup or the last traces of eyelash glue so it’s a must-have for me.

ESSIE NAIL POLISHES: FOR THE TWILL OF IT & CAUSE AND REFLECT

Something else I’ve learned in recent months is that not only am I not really an eyeshadow person anymore, but I’m too impatient to do my nails most of the time ? I probably only do my nails once or twice a year, haha. However, I added these two nail polishes to my collection, and surprisingly I’ve been doing my nails again recently! I really liked using For the Twill of It because of the chromatic finish it gave off; my nails changed color depending on the light and that was really satisfying to see. I’m pretty sure it’s because of quarantine, but I’m looking forward to hopefully doing my nails more often!

SEPHORA PRECISION PORE CLEANSING PAD

I used to have the Sephora Duo Face Brush and used it for several years but replaced it because I was only using one side and it was bulky. I decided to get this one because it’s small, which makes it travel-friendly, and I hoped it would do a better job of getting into my pores and exfoliating.

So far, I love it! It’s easy to handle and I like that it’s made of silicone so it won’t become a breeding ground for bacteria unlike facial brushes. On top of that, I’ll be able to take it everywhere I go (once we can travel again), which is something I like to look for in a lot of my products.

COLOURPOP BROW BOSS IN SOFT BLACK

I love my NYX Micro Brow pencil but thought I would try out another brand to see how it works. While I like the Colourpop one, I find that it’s a little softer than the NYX pencil (the NYX brow pencil is waxier) which makes it prone to smudging if I’m not careful. I’m still testing out different ways to apply it, so I’ll probably update how I feel about it in a monthly product review.

NYX MATTE BLOTTING PAPER

If you’ve ever read my product reviews, you’ll probably know that I have oily skin. Besides looking for a good foundation and powder, I also think having the right tools to touch up throughout the day is important. With blotting sheets, I’ve been trying out quite a few brands and I’m still in the process of comparing them. I’ve used these NYX sheets a few times and so far I’ve noticed that they remove a lot of oil from your skin, but it can look a bit too matte and dry? I’ll continue testing these and let you know what I think in an upcoming review!

So that’s it for today’s haul and review post! Thanks so much for reading and I hope you found it helpful! I know it’s been tough for all of us lately, but I hope you’re able to discover and appreciate the small joys in life during these challenging times. See you lovelies soon ?
