MILANI MAKE IT LAST SETTING SPRAY REVIEW

For many of us, setting sprays are now an essential part of our makeup routines to set down makeup whether you have oily or dry skin. See how the Milani Make It Last setting spray worked on my oily skin in this review! milanimakeitlastsettingsprayreview Milani came out with two setting sprays for oily and dry skin: Make It Last and Make It Dewy. After seeing a YouTuber rave about how much she loved this setting spray, I was curious to try it out for myself. Today I’ll be reviewing the Milani Make It Last setting spray!

MY SKIN TYPE

Oily, acne-prone, and sensitive. milanisetingspray3

FRAGRANCE AND APPLICATION

I didn’t notice any strong fragrance. The spray was a fine mist that I was able to apply evenly over my face. After using it, my skin looked less powdery and my base looked smooth.

RESULTS

I didn’t notice a huge difference in how my makeup lasted compared to other setting sprays such as my Gerard Cosmetics Slay All Day setting spray (review here!). Since I have such oily skin, makeup typically lasts for 6-8 hours on my skin before needing to touch up. With this setting spray, I got oily within that time period, so it didn’t deliver better results than other products I’ve tried. milanisettingspray4 However, it didn’t make my makeup break down prematurely. With a good primer and mattifying foundation, my skin was shiny but it didn’t separate or look patchy. The only big issue I did have was that I had a negative reaction to this setting spray. Unfortunately, after testing it out for about 2 1/2 weeks, I got acne where I normally don’t break out which meant that my skin didn’t like it. The breakouts were mainly on my cheeks and I was also itchy, even after I removed my makeup, so I took that as a bad sign.

THE VERDICT

Because of my allergic reaction/breakouts to this product, I ended up returning it. Another factor was how it wasn’t a standout product because I still got oily. Ideally, I’d like to be able to put on makeup and not have to worry about it for the rest of the day. I’m not asking for 24-hour wear, but I’d like to look decent at the end of an 8-12 hour day. But alas, I guess my journey continues to find holy grail products. My current favorite setting spray is the Gerard Cosmetics Slay All Day and although I still get oily with that spray as well, it helps my makeup last longer than the other ones I’ve tried. Unfortunately, I won’t be using or repurchasing the Milani setting spray again. milanisettingspray2 With that being said, this could potentially work for other people! They also have a dewy setting spray for people with dry skin so that may be worth checking out. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this based on my experience, but everyone is different. Have you tried this setting spray? What are your thoughts on it? Let me know in the comments! BTHsignature

  1. Hey Annie, I tried reaching you some time ago about a collab but never heard anything back from you. Thought I’d try again via the comments as my mail perhaps didn’t reach you. If you’re open for collabs I’d love to get in touch with you. Feel free to write directly to my email emily@blogerize.com if you’re interested. Thanks 🙂
