Hello lovelies, and welcome to this month’s product review, where I talk about what I loved and didn’t love so much in the month of February!
PIXI GLOW PEEL PADS
I’ve been using these peel pads on and off for a while, but I truly started testing them out this month. So far, it seems to be working pretty well. I recently noticed a couple lines on my forehead (?) and they seem to have faded a little bit since I started using the pads, but I’ll have to keep using them to see if it’s really working. I also think my skin looks a bit more even and bright.
The pads contain 20% glycolic acid, which makes it a chemical exfoliant/peel. I’ve used 5% glycolic acid before (with the Pixi Glow Tonic!) and worked my way up to these pads by starting with once a week and slowly using them more. The only issue I have at the moment is that I’m currently in the middle of a big breakout on my chin and I’m not sure if it’s my diet, hormones, or skincare routine so I’m trying to figure that out.
In the future, I’ll make sure to make a detailed review about my experience with these pads, but for now, I thought I’d use this monthly review to mark my progress with this product!
Verdict? Maybe…for now?
MAYBELLINE BIG SHOT COLOSSAL MASCARA
Over the years, I’ve gone through phases where I like to wear lashes and other phases where I just wear mascara. When I started working more, I favored lashes because I felt like they were faster than applying coats of mascara and they really finish off a look. But I’m currently back into mascara looks, so I’ve turned to this one!
What I like about this mascara is that it creates a lot of volume and some length while also keeping my curl. What I don’t like is how much product it loads onto your lashes. If you’re in a rush, I wouldn’t recommend this mascara because I like to carefully scrape off the excess before using it on my lashes because there’s so much product on it. If you’re not careful, it can get clumpy and messy quickly. However, when you take your time, it turns out pretty nice!
Verdict: Maybe?
INNISFREE SLEEPING LIP MASK
This is a new addition to my nighttime skincare routine. This past winter was extra dry due to low temperatures and strong winds. This is the first time I’ve noticed my hands and lips becoming so dry. I’ve always felt like lip sleeping masks were unnecessary so I avoided them, but I finally decided to try this one from Innisfree because it was on sale. Surprisingly, it works!
This is a thick balm and you’ll have to rub your finger in it to get the product out. It’s very moisturizing and can feel heavy at first, but it absorbs into your lips over time, leaving you with hydrated lips. I only use this at night, but it also comes in handy on mornings before work when you feel like you need extra hydration under your lip products.
The only con I have with this is that I don’t love the scent, but it’s slowly growing on me. It’s also slightly expensive when it’s not on sale, but it’s more affordable than other brands.
Verdict: YES! (Especially for the winter ❄)
INNISFREE MY LIP BALMS
I’ve been using these lip balms for about a year now ever since they were introduced in last year’s Innisfree holiday haul and I’ve loved them ever since. I haven’t wanted to touch my lipstick collection since I found these because they’re hydrating and give off the perfect tint so you don’t need a pigmented lip product.
I recently repurchased some more because I’ve used up most of these and this is probably one of my favorite lip products ever. ?
Verdict: YES!
INNISFREE CICA TONER WITH BIJA SEED OIL
This is a toner that took me by surprise because I was expecting something different. As I explained in my recent Innisfree haul, I thought it would be a regular toner but it turned out to be like a toner lotion. It has a milky consistency and it lightly hydrates the skin. Because it’s made with bija seed oil and centella asiatica extract, it’s meant to help heal the skin. I’ve been using it for a couple months and although I think it’s a nice product, I’m not sure if it’s really helping my skin.
For now, I like to use it in the morning under my makeup and I haven’t had any issues with it. It doesn’t break me out and doesn’t have any scent so it won’t irritate sensitive skin.
Verdict: Maybe?
And that concludes this month’s product review! I really missed doing these posts and I hope to do one every month from now on! Thanks so much for reading and I’ll see you lovelies soon. ?
