BEAUTY MAKEUP PRODUCT REVIEWS SKIN DEEP

YES, NO, MAYBE SO | MARCH 2020 MONTHLY PRODUCT REVIEW

Hello lovelies, today I’m back with my monthly product review where I talk about what I loved and didn’t love in the past month!

WINTER CANDY APPLE BODY LOTION

I was so happy when I saw this lotion back in stores again. I thought they had discontinued it forever, but I’m glad they brought it back for the holiday season. This is one of my favorite scents from them; the notes are:

Top: candied apple, orange
Heart: maple, cinnamon, neroli, rose
Base: winter musk, orris root, moss

To me, it’s sweet but too overbearing and I always feel super happy when I’m wearing it. My only regret is not buying more of it since I’ve already finished a bottle, haha.

Verdict: YES!

INNISFREE VITALIZING SLEEPING MASK WITH ALOE

When it comes to my nightly skincare routine, I’ve started to modify it depending on what I feel like my skin needs. This sleeping mask has been a new addition to my nightly routine and I first introduced this product on my blog in my last Innisfree haul.

It’s a very lightweight formula in comparison to other sleeping masks I’ve tried and my skin absorbs it very quickly. If I feel like I need an extra boost of hydration without going overboard, I like to apply this for my last step. I would definitely recommend this to those with oily skin because I like how light yet hydrating it is, whereas I think those with drier skin wouldn’t think it’s hydrating enough. It also hasn’t broken me out or given me any bad reactions.

Verdict: YES!

JULEP ULTRA HYDRATING LIP GLOSS IN KWEEN

I bought this lip gloss quite a while ago, and it’s still going strong for me. Since I own a lot of lip products, I try to switch it up when I do my makeup but when it comes to work, I’ve found myself reaching for my Innisfree lip balms or this lip gloss the most.

This gloss adds a nice subtle tint to my lips for a natural look while still adding some color to my face. There’s no shimmer and there’s a barely-there scent that quickly disappears after you apply it. I also really like the applicator; it’s a traditional doe foot shape but it also has ridges on the sides that hug your lips as you use the product. I find that really convenient, especially when I’m on the go and need to apply products without a mirror. And of course, the packaging is gorgeous.

Verdict: YES!

TOO FACED SHADOW INSURANCE EYESHADOW PRIMER

I first tried this eyeshadow primer through a sample (it was in this haul!) and I thought it was amazing. My eye makeup would look exactly the same at the end of the day while the rest of my face had some shine to it. I was instantly sold and went to purchase the full-size product.

Fast forward to now, and I don’t know how I feel about it anymore. It didn’t deliver the same results as it did when I used the sample, but it’s not the worst primer I’ve ever tried. I’ve also been getting a lot of oil when I squeeze the tube lately, even though I try to shake up the tube and I know there’s still product inside. So although it did last me a long time, I’m not sure if it’s worth the $20 price tag. I’m currently looking into drugstore eyeshadow primers again, but it’s not an urgent thing since I don’t really wear heavy eye makeup anymore. Overall, I didn’t hate this product but I wouldn’t repurchase it.

Verdict: No…

SABLE HEATING PAD

This month, I thought I would change things up by adding in some non-beauty items because I feel like they’re worth a mention. One of these items is a heating pad I bought at the beginning of February. I thought it might be too late to get this since it was almost the end of winter, but my hands and feet always get really cold easily so one day, I couldn’t take it anymore and decided to purchase a heating pad that I saw a YouTuber using (and it wasn’t sponsored haha).

And no joke, this has been a lifesaver for me! After I purchased this, the temperature conveniently dropped and we started getting a lot of rain so this was perfect to keep me cozy whenever I got cold and I’m still using it for the time being to warm up my bed before I go to sleep.

I love using this heating pad underneath my blankets to defrost my feet before bed (they literally feel like ice all day, every day :() and it also works great if you have cramps or want to use it on a certain part of your body like your back. It’s not recommended to sleep with it, but if you happen to doze off, there’s a 2-hour timer so it shuts off automatically! My feet and body have been so much happier after getting this heating pad and I haven’t had any issues with it. 🙂

Verdict: YES! (I got this from Amazon, link to buy it here!)

FREE PRESS RAINBOW EAR CLIMBERS

I love trying out different kinds of earrings and recently got interested in ear climbers. I saw these in a pack of 3 earrings at Nordstrom Rack and ended up really liking the look of them!

It’s a bit out of my comfort zone because it’s quite colorful and I worried that they would look a little juvenile on me, but I love the pop of color. The only issue I have is that they do move around quite easily since they’re not secured by anything, but to solve that issue, I think keeping your hair up and out of your face will prevent you from continuously adjusting your hair and accidentally bumping into the earrings; plus, they’ll be able to stand out even more!

Verdict: YES!

PILLOWFORT SAUCER CHAIR

I have a tendency to always sit on my bed whenever I’m in my room because I don’t really have anywhere else to sit and it would make me feel lazy and less productive. So for months, I was looking for an affordable saucer or butterfly chair that I could add to my room and finally ended up with this one from Target!

I was hoping to avoid the faux fur material because I don’t know if it’ll be uncomfortable in the summer, but for now I really like it. It’s soft and comfy and I enjoy having somewhere else to sit besides my bed. With this saucer chair, I can sit and read or watch shows or work on my blog if I don’t feel like working at my desk. It also helps with not associating my bed as a workspace. And lastly, it folds up whenever you don’t want to use it and you can easily store it away!

Verdict: YES! (Link to buy it here!)

[Note: I didn’t realize I bought a kids chair unless the chair on the website is different, but it can hold up to 150 lbs and it fits me just fine!]

And that wraps up this month’s product review! I hope you enjoyed reading it and found it helpful. I’ll see you lovelies soon! ?
