BEAUTY PRODUCT REVIEWS

YES, NO, MAYBE SO | MAY 2020 MONTHLY PRODUCT REVIEW

Hello there lovelies and welcome to a new month; today I’m going to be reviewing products I’ve been testing and using in the last month and my thoughts on them!

INNISFREE CLARIFYING FOAM WITH BIJA SEED OIL

This has been my everyday face wash that I use at night before bed. It foams up well and I feel like it leaves my skin feeling clean without drying it out. It’s also been perfect as the second step for my double cleanse when I used to wear makeup every day. The ingredient list doesn’t seem too bad, but I wish salicylic acid was higher on the list (fun fact: ingredients are usually listed from highest to lowest concentrate).

Other than that, I think the Innisfree Clarifying Foam with Bija Seed Oil is a great gentle cleanser that would work well for those with normal to oily skin. If you have dry skin, a cream or gel cleanser might be better.

Verdict: YES!

THE ORDINARY LACTIC ACID 10% & HA

I’ve been testing lactic acid out for a couple months now and I reviewed it in my latest haul. At first, I was using it every day, but now I use this a couple times a week. There are times where I feel like my skin tone looks smoother and brighter and other times where I don’t think it’s doing anything. I’m still dealing with hyperpigmentation as well so I’m not sure if it’s helping to fade away dark spots. Two other factors to take into consideration is that I haven’t worn foundation in 2 months and I also alternate with glycolic acid in my skincare routine.

I don’t know if I would recommend The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% & HA to others, but I think it’s worth a try if you’re looking to try out AHAs for hyperpigmentation and also need some hydration (provided with the hyaluronic acid). There are many AHAs out there, such as glycolic acid, mandelic acid, and citric acid, so it’s worth looking into all the different kinds and doing your research before trying them out. The Ordinary website is also a great place to learn about skincare ingredients so you can make educated purchases for your skin type.

Verdict: Maybe?

INNISFREE ANTIOXIDANT MASK WITH FERMENTED GREEN TEA

I’ve used this wash-off mask a few times and I don’t know how to feel about it. The Innisfree Antioxidant Mask with Fermented Green Tea is supposed to moisturize your skin and leave behind a youthful appearance. I got it for free in one of my orders (see it in this haul!) and I’ve tried it out occasionally since then, usually after my shower before bed. It’s a sticky texture and doesn’t dry down as well as tea leaves within the mask. It’s not too difficult to wash off, but it’ll take a little extra time to make sure all the tea leaves are rinsed off.

I feel like my skin does feel a bit more hydrated and fresh when I use it, but I don’t see enough of a difference to justify its price. It’s nice to have in my skincare collection, but I don’t think it’s necessary.

Verdict: No…

SINFUL COLORS CLEAR COAT

I’ve been using the Sinful Colors clear coat on my nails as a base coat and top coat for a while and I really like it. I picked it up randomly because it was inexpensive and it prevents my nails from chipping while adding a nice shine. On top of that, I can add additional layers as my nails grow out so the color doesn’t peel and stays fresh.

I was impressed at how well it works considering how I’ve shelled out money on other pricier brands that didn’t do nearly as well as this one. I would definitely recommend this if you’re looking for a new clear coat to use on your manis and pedis while you’re in quarantine.

Verdict: YES!

And those are the products I’ve been testing out and using in this past month! Thanks so much for reading and I hope these reviews are helpful. I’ll see you lovelies soon. ?
